Anaheim Hills Riding and Walking trail is a dog-friendly moderate loop trail that touches Santiago Oaks Park in its southwest corner. The vast and easy trail starts at the end of a couple of cul-de-sacs in the Anaheim Hills neighborhood, accessed from Serrano Road by going down Hidden Canyon Road and then left onto the Avenida De Santiago end. There are more places where the trail comes out into the neighborhood. This trail has spacious views, with Sierra Peak to the north and the beautiful Santa Ana Mountains to the south.
This trail is flat, broad, and well-graded. You’ll start along the loop clockwise and reach a point where a side trail diverges to the left along the neighborhood. Then, you must follow the side trail along the Blue Sky Road for around ½ miles up and over a low ridge. After this, you should return to the extensive path and continue clockwise. The trial drops down and wiggles back to Santiago Oaks and could be followed downward into Santiago Oak’s main body if you have time! The Anaheim Hills Riding and Walking Trail are exposed, so it is better to visit when there’s cool weather. The trail’s grade is perfect for running, hiking, or biking.
The trail can be accessed from multiple entrances connected to the neighborhood off Serrano Road. This trail is also considered a family-friendly hike, but keep in mind that the trail drops down and back up, making the return challenging for the little ones, but overall the elevation gain is around 800 feet on the whole loop.
