Now in its 58th year, the annual Garden Grove Strawberry Festival takes place every Memorial Day weekend. From May 27-30, 2016, you can enjoy live entertainment and, of course, the best strawberries California produces. Friday hours are from 1pm-10pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10am-10pm, and Monday 10am-9pm. Veterans are honored at the festival, which is held at the Village Green between Euclid Avenue and Main Street in Garden Grove.
Admission is free, and unlimited all-day rides are just $25. You’ll pore over historical photos, check out the Strawberry Cake Cutting Ceremony and Tiny Tots King & Queen Contest, and partake in the Strawberry Stomp 5K run. On Saturday, a VIP breakfast is held followed by the parade, celebrity autograph signings, listen to blues and rock bands, and check out the Strawberry Idol Karaoke Contest in the evening.
A Sweet Escape
The Berry, Berry Beautiful Baby Contest is held on Sunday, followed by more live bands, dance groups and a performance by Miss Garden Grove and Friends. The Redhead Roundup Contest kicks off on Monday, followed by musical groups and The Colony of the Performing Arts.
Don’t miss out on the sweetest event in southern California. Come hungry, armed with your camera, and ready to have a blast!
