Nederlands was the first promoter to bring live theater to this indoor venue, with Broadway touring productions of Stomp, Rock of Ages, Rent, and others.
This venue originally opened as the ill-fated Tinseltown in 1998, an awards show-themed restaurant. It later converted into a concert venue and was temporarily renamed The Sun Theater before being named The Grove of Anaheim. On January 20117, the venue received its current name, the City National Grove of Anaheim, following the naming rights agreement with the City National Bank.
