The Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters is hosted during July and august. It features over a hundred of Orange County’s top artists displaying their sculptures, paintings, ceramics, jewelry, photographs, art, and more. The site offers art workshops, tours, and demonstrations daily, while the weekends are jam-packed with special events and live music.
The first Festival of Arts was produced by local artist John H. Hinchman on August 13-20, 1932, in downtown Laguna; with no permanent location, this festival has been held in different venues throughout the years.
The Pageant of the Masters features recreations of contemporary and classical artwork every night, with real people transformed into a life-sized orchestra. This pageant is arguably one of the most iconic productions worldwide. The 90 minutes performance brings famous works of art to real life on the stage.
Unlike the Pageant of Masters, the Festival of Arts has unlimited access and is free of charge all summer long. This festival is the longest-running outdoor art exhibition in California, which features Orange County’s award-winning artist’s artwork. Your Paegant’s ticket gives you free admission to the Laguna Art-A-Fair, a fine art festival that features artwork, fine cuisine, and workshops.
